An Affordable Dive Liveaboard

Our newest vessel, All Star Ghani, offers the same high standards of safety, service and dive operation as her sister ship, All Star Scuba Scene, but in a more intimate setting. Guests can enjoy comfortable, well-appointed cabins with private en-suite bathrooms, individual climate control and convenient power outlets for all devices. The shaded dive deck features gear storage and a camera table.

Dive Trip Highlights

The Red Sea is designated a top dive location due to its exceptional visibility, numerous shipwrecks and colorful soft and hard corals, plus seven (7) species of sharks.

We are tec-friendly. Rebreather divers can explore more wreck sites below 130 feet (40m). Dive instruction ranges from Advanced Open Water (AOW) to Tec 50 (PADI) or Extended (TDI).

Our Dive Services

All Star Ghani provides the most requested dive amenities. Our dive platform houses personal gear lockers, private bathrooms with hot-water showers, an open-air shower, freshwater hoses and rinse tanks, in-place air/nitrox fill stations, and a camera table with low-pressure air hoses.

The dive regions below showcase the entire sea from north to south.

Each dive region has its own unique character. Popular trips – SS Thistlegorm, Abu Nuhas Reef, Tiran Strait, Ras Mohammed National Park, Brothers Islands, Daedalus and Elphinstone reefs with oceanic whitetip sharks. The Deep South takes in remote islands – St. John’s, Zabargad and Rocky.

Pyramid & Cairo Tours, Nile Cruises & Kitesurfing Weeks

Pre and post-tours can be added to your dive trip. The three most popular Egyptian tours are: 1) The Pyramids of Giza, southwest of Cairo, 2) a cruise on the Nile River aboard All Star Fayrouza between Luxor or Aswan with stops at historic Egyptian attractions, and 3) a city tour of Cairo with its rich historical and cultural sites.

With its flat water, the Red Sea offers exceptional kitesurfing for all levels. Kite season, when the winds are most favorable, runs select weeks from April to October. Optimum locations are found in the Northern Red Sea, around Safaga, Soma Bay, El Gouna and Tawila Island. Kitesurfing is a group activity and typically arranged through a club or tour operator.

Dining

Ghani’s menu may showcase a dive guest’s native cuisine, along with Egypt’s world dishes. As adventure seekers, divers are usually open to experiencing other cultures and foods and strive to accommodate special dietary needs.

Egyptians are social people who enjoy gathering around food. Popular menu items include rice, legumes, lentils, vegetables, hummus, lamb, beef, chicken, fish and seafood, spices, spices and more spices, fruit, bread and cheese.

If you have special dietary needs or restrictions, please note them on the Trip Application form. With advance notice, our chef can prepare special menus, such as vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free, using local vendors’ products.

North Red Sea

Ras Mohammed National Park

Egypt’s first national park at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, it is easy to access for land-based day trippers
Dive liveaboards allow for off-hours diving
Home to Shark and Yolanda reefs, both named among the 10 most beautiful dives in the world, with colorful corals, numerous fish and dolphins.
Shark Reef – steep walls are in constant motion with huge schools of pelagic fish, barracuda and jacks. Its name hints that sharks are always nearby.
Yolanda’s house is a namesake wreck that sank in 1981, carrying toilet seats and creating interesting art. Vibrant corals and reef fish can be found here.

Strait of Tiran

East of the Sinai Peninsula is the strait with four of Egypt’s best reefs: Jackson, Thomas, Woodhouse and Gordon reefs. Day divers from Sharm el-Sheik can draw crowds.
Jackson, furthest north, is less impacted by day divers. Impressive corals, abundant small reef fish and schooling hammerhead sharks.
Thomas Reef, the next south, is the most popular due to the variety of dives from shallow walls to tec diving in the canyon. Strong currents are perfect for drift dives
Woodhouse Reef, with growth from the top down, walls turn into slopes as divers descend. Conditions sometimes create drift dives.
Gordon Reef is the easiest with a shallow plateau, lighter currents, amazing corals and Louilla, a shipwreck at the waterline.

Wrecks of the North

Northern Egypt is an exceptional diving destination with wrecks ranging in age from the 19th century to the 1980s, and each carrying a unique cargo.

The northern Red Sea is scattered with excellent wrecks at depths suitable for recreational divers. However, divers must be Advanced Open Water (AOW) (or equivalent) and/or Deep Diver Specialty (or equivalent) certified to enjoy the dive trips fully.

While Nitrox and Wreck Specialty certifications (or equivalent) aren’t mandatory, they are useful. The suggested minimum number of logged dives before arrival is 30. Instruction and certifications may be available on board, allowing a diver to explore deeper wreck depths.

Wreck of the SS Thistlegorm

Known as the world’s best wreck dive, it rests in two pieces east of the Sinai Peninsula
A challenging dive with some currents while exploring the 400 ft (122m) long wreck
Sunk in 1941 by fighter planes while waiting to enter the Suez Canal; well preserved.
Extraordinary marine life, including crocodile fish, schools of batfish and macro creatures – nudibranchs.

Abu Nuhas

Four great sites within recreational limits with visits from bottlenose dolphins.
Macro critters are plentiful
Oldest wreck – Carnatic is great for all skill levels – AOW required for Scuba Scene. Known as the wine wreck.
Kimon M smashed into a reef in 1978 when transporting lentils to India.
Chrisoula K went down in 1981 carrying tiles from Italy to Saudi Arabia. Only tec divers can enter the engineering room.
In 1983, Giannis D, a freighter, was a casualty. It is ideal for those with little wreck experience due to its shallow depth.

Gubal Island

Hosts three (3) dive sites between the Sinai Peninsula and mainland Egypt.
Strong currents
Bluff Point’s steep walls with hard and soft corals, macro creatures, overhangs, unique topography and a wreck of unknown origin.
Ulysses, a 19th-century wreck on the north side of the island, is suitable for inexperienced wreck divers; however, it is affected by strong currents.
The itinerary allows for easy access to the Tiran Strait.

Central and South Red Sea

Dive sites in this region require an experienced diver skill level with an Advanced Open Water (AOW) Certification (or equivalent). While a Deep Dive specialty (or equivalent) is not mandatory, it is useful to reach depths over 130 feet (40m). The suggested logged dives before arrival are a minimum of 50, with 100 or more preferred. Instruction and certifications may be available on board.

Elphinestone Reef

Just a few feet from the surface, miles from Marsa Alam
Most popular dive site due to oceanic whitetip shark sightings from October to December
Colorful pristine, soft corals
Steep walls, scenic but deep water over recreation diver limits
Pelagics – occasional whale sharks and manta rays
Strong currents attract schooling barracudas, jacks and trevallies

Brothers Islands

40 miles offshore, requiring a dive liveaboard
Hard and soft corals and shark sightings
The uninhabited island of Little Brother draws schooling fish to its pristine waters
With a working lighthouse, Big Brother is off limits
Thresher and oceanic whitetip sharks spotted
Wrecks Numidia and Aida II for recreational and advanced diversn

Daedalus Reef

Located in a marine park
The reef is large, offering divers many options depending on skill levels
Hammerhead sharks are seen year-round and school seasonally, from May to August
Massive hard coral formations create dramatic scenery
Attracts manta rays, tuna, trevallies, and grey reef and thresher sharks

Deep South Red Sea

Many divers consider this region to offer the very best diving in Egypt. The St. John’s area – at the very southern border of Egypt, near Sudan – is an absolutely amazing dive site out of reach for day trippers. Limited by access and distance, it is a less-populated destination accessible only to liveaboard divers. Explore pristine reefs, home to nonresident pelagics.

St. John’s plateau offers stellar diving

Zabargad

Frequent pelagic sightings have earned this southern Egypt dive region an extremely favorable reputation
Home to a mysterious Russian shipwreck, sea turtles and diverse bird species
Unique topography – pinnacles and sloping walls, decorated with colorful soft corals

Rocky Island

Less crowded, this dive location is the most difficult due to little protection from the wind and swift currents
Fast waters draw pelagics – whale sharks, manta rays, leopard sharks can unexpectedly swim into focus

Rates vary due to the number and variety of itineraries.

Please reconfirm arrival/departure ports and departure/return times on the specific trip (date) you are interested in.

Hurghada International Airport (HRG) to Port Hurghada
Trips depart/return on Mondays. For Hurghada departures, the vessel is located at the Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort.

Non-diver activities are very limited. Single supplement 80 percent. Two (2) single cabins are 50% more.

Advanced or Deep Diver Certification is required, and you must have logged at least 30 dives to be permitted to dive in the marine parks.
